1-credit Honors Seminar, Iowa State University
Fall semester 2021 and 2022
(Created and taught by Kate Borchardt)
Pollinators have become an increasingly popular topic in ecology, agriculture, and conservation biology. This course is to provide a broad overview of pollination ecology accessible for non-biology majors, including integration of many scientific topics such as botany, insect ecology, foraging theory, community context, interaction network analysis, and global climate change as well as applications through research methods and conservation practices. Coursework entails lecture content, class discussions, a class field experiment, and a final literature review assignment.
